When visiting North Yorkshire as numerous sightseeing tourists do they stumble across one of the regions best kept secrets, the UKs fourth smallest city, the attractively quaint Ripon and here, just five minutes easy walk from the centre is another travellers treasure Crescent Lodge, a Georgian Grade 2 listed guesthouse, family run, lovingly restored with en-suite guest rooms including central heating, beverage facilities, colour television, hair dryer and radio alarm clock, all the thing the Georgians would have loved. They would also have been delighted to learn that Crescent Lodge is only five minutes drive from the A1. Certainly, in those days and with their loquacious appetites a Crescent Lodge breakfast would not have been out of place and to find two gems in one day is good fortune indeed.
