Who are we? We are privately owned and run as a partnership. Established in 1997, we have never relied on handouts from the government or other bodies. From humble beginnings, we have heavily reinvested in our business, ensuring our equipment is always fully up to date and properly maintained. Who are our customers? We don’t restrict ourselves to any particular age/race/religion groups, and are disabled friendly. Everyone is welcome at Plug Studios. We have children as young as seven visiting the studios, right up to those looking forward to retirement. Some of our customers are just beginning their musical journeys, whilst others are professional musicians. We are open seven days a week. Free parking is available both sites, and all studios are situated at ground floor level to ensure easy access. Both our Mountergate site and Kingsway site are situated within walking distance of the city centre and bus stops. In addition, Mountergate is a five minute walk from the train station. Rehearsal Studio We have 13 rehearsal studios spread over two sites. We are open from 11am - midnight 6 days per week (Sunday - Friday), and from 11am - 9pm on Saturdays. All rehearsal slots are our Mountergate site are for three hours, whilst our fully air conditioned Kingsway site offers more flexible timeslots, including 1hr sessions for solo musicians. Recording Studio You can produce a basic recording of your rehearsal at no extra charge in any of our kingsway studios, using equipment supplied as standard. To produce a demo or album, use our dedicated recording facilities with prices starting at just £14 per hour. We record all genres of music, including bands and solo singers, and the spoken word. The studio is equipped with a Roland VS2480 24 track digital recorder, computers, and and we have a comprehensive selection of outboard equipment. Details of which are available on request. Equipment Hire In addition to those items available to hire onsite for rehearsals and recording, we also offer affordable offsite hire of lighting & backline (drums, guitar and bass guitar amps). In addition, we have P.A systems for band gigs, weddings, corporate conferences, general public address etc. These range from simple to use (and very reasonably priced) small rigs suitable for pubs and clubs, to larger more robust “top of the range” systems for larger venues and outdoor use.
